I've used Office in the classroom through at least 3 versions! Still the go-to resource for having students type papers or make presentations. -
Overhead Projector
used for showing examples of artwork and for giving notes to students in Graphic Design courses. -

Mac
Mainly used in the art world, I've taught graphic design to students on many Macintosh computers. -
Adobe Creative Suite
used to teach students the fundamentals of graphic design and the use of the software. -
Wacom/Intuos Tablet
Also used in graphic design courses and digital art courses to teach students how to manipulate and create images with the pen and tablet -
Ochonoma Ryugaku
Teleconferencing teaching suite used for my first teaching job in Japan. The instructor could video-conference with up to 4 students. -
Laminator
This trusty device has saved many items for future reuse in the classroom. From "helper" sheets on the walls to homegrown games. -
Digital Whiteboard
Software used in conjunction with the video teleconferencing suite, allowing teachers to give students notes, examples and corrections in written or pictorial form. -
Chalkboard/Blackboard
Used in English classes in japan while teaching in older classrooms. Chalk on your hands is horrible! -
dreaded ScanTron!
Used to grade English assessments for Japanese university students. -
iPad
Used in much the same way as the MS Surface, a handy tool when away from the classroom or in a private lesson. Great for showing videos or web pages to students. -
Digital Projector
Used in modern classrooms to give presentations and digital lecture notes to students. -
iPhones
Though I don't allow constant use of smartphones in the classroom, I do allow it for the occasional translation, dictionary use and the voice memo applications (for digital stories). -
Instructure Canvas
Class management software used to colloborate with students, other teachers and in my current personal classes. -
Microsoft Surface
Used for showing private students video and audio as well as web sites. also a great travel companion tool for completing work. -
Windows Movie Maker
used in student productions of digital stories. students first wrote a descriptive essay and then converted it into a digital story. -
Padlet
After being introduced to this service in a USF class, I now use it with my reading-writing classes for their daily writing assignments. -
All-In-One PC
Luckily, at my current school, every classroom has a PC for the teachers to use with students. we also have a 6 PC computer lab for the students to use.
