A Slice of Pizza and a Side of Fries
I'm not talking about the pizza and french fries you think I am... I'm actually talking about the words I used to learn how to ski was I was a young girl. To slow down to a stop, I would make a "pizza" with my skis and to speed up I would make "french fries." I have been skiing ever since! -
Learning how to swim
Having a pool in the backyard gave me the opportunity to wade in the water every day in the summer until I had the courage to swim across the water like my older siblings. -
3 Strikes, 3 Outs
I used to play softball as a girl and one game, I remember that I managed to get all 3 outs just by my pitching! I couldn't believe it... I think the ref was feeling really nice that day :) -
Up in the sky!
My first time on airplane was when my dad took my sister and I to Colorado on a family skiing trip. I knew that it was just the beginning of my travels... -
Pioneering the future
In 2014, I volunteered at Grace Adventures Day Camp, the day camp that my church runs. I randomly ended up helping with the "pioneers," which are a group of 4-6 year old campers. Little did I know that 3 years later, I would be working at the camp and loving every minute with the little ones! -
Road to California
In January, my best friend moved across the country to California. Distance didn't stop us from growing closer and closer each day! -
Friends With Refugees
In the summer of 2016,I got the opportunity to go on a missions trip to southern Italy, where I was able to aid and make personal connections with refugees that had fled numerous countries from North Africa. -
Road to Rouse
In my senior year of high school, I made a risky choice and only decided to apply to 1 college. That college ended up being HCC, yet more specifically to the Rouse Scholars Program. This program has greatly motivated me to love school and succeed in my classes. -
