    It's Like Riding a Bike
When it was time to take the training wheels off my bike it was a true test of perseverance. There were so many times I fell and got more cuts and bruises than I care to remember. I finally had to take one day at time first coasting with my feet on the ground to slowly I got my balance to start pedaling on my own. Once I got the hang of it there was no stopping me. "It's like riding a bike"-said of a skill that once learned is never forgotten.
  • Swimming Championships

    Swimming Championships
I always loved swimming. I joined the swim team when I was eight years old. We swam against local swim teams around the area. Race time was always exciting getting up on the block and waiting for the whistle to sound. I made the championship finals for the 5 years I was on the team. The championship day was always great getting your medals and a t shirt or sweatshirt to remember the day. To concentrate on baseball I had to give up competitive swimming but continue to enjoy swimming for fun.
  • Big Screen Wipeout

    Big Screen Wipeout
At a Renegades game my dad and I were chosen to play a game that they have for their fans in between innings. The game consisted of my dad filling a pitcher with water that had holes in the bottom and running over to me and filling my pitcher to the red line which was on my head. We were very close with the other team and seconds left when my dad slipped on the wet grass and knocked both of us over. The wipeout came up on the big screen which they played over and over again!!
  • Saved a Life

    Saved a Life
My best friend has diabetes. At a sleepover at his house in the middle of the night his arm came dangling off the slide of his bed and hit me in the face as I was lying on the cot below. When I moved his arm it came back down so I sat up. My friend was not looking so good and he could not speak. I immediately got his parents. They found his sugar had gone down to dangerously low levels. They told me if I had not come in at that time to get them he would have probably ended up in the hospital.
  • Cooperstown 2014 and 2015

    Cooperstown 2014 and 2015
Cooperstown is every 12 year old boy's dream that plays baseball. I had the the great opportunity to go two years in a row. First with my team the Kent White Sox and the next year with the Brewster Bombers. For a week you compete with teams all over the country. The second year for the first time there was a team from China. Each team designs a pin and pin trading is the highlight of the week trying to collect all the competing teams' pins. It was a great way to meet the other players.
  • Potato Peeling Incident

    Potato Peeling Incident
On Thanksgiving my sister and I decided we would help mom with dinner.
Since peeling and cutting the potatoes looked like something we could do together to help, we told mom we would take over the task.
Not ten minutes into it, my sister sliced her finger on the peeler and a few minutes later I did as well so instead of having bloody potatoes for dinner we decided to switch to setting the table instead.
  • GHVBL Baseball Spring Championship

    GHVBL Baseball Spring Championship
My travel baseball team the Brewster Bombers had a great Spring season. The two games for the playoffs had been amazing and now it was time for the championship game against Putnam Valley. What made it even more exciting was that my coach told me I'd be pitching the game. I ended pitching the entire game!! Striking out 9 and winning 5-1. We had a ceremony right after which the entire team got a trophy.
What a great season! My picture ended up on the league's website for the next couple of years.
  • Assembly of Gaming Computer

    Assembly of Gaming Computer
I love to play video games so a couple of years ago I decided it would be a good idea if I build my own gaming computer. I
researched what parts I needed and bought them off the internet. When I received the parts I looked at videos on how to put the computer together which did not seem so hard but boy was I wrong, .After weeks of trying with my dad to put together things that did not work, my dad ended up having to take the parts of the computer to a computer tech center to have it assembled.
  • My Badge of Courage

    My Badge of Courage
Having surgery after I broke my arm was very scary for me. I remember not being able to sleep the night before and watching TV all night. When I got to the hospital the biggest fear was getting the IV put in and being worried that I would wake up in the middle of the surgery. My doctor put me at ease and away I went. When I came out of surgery I remember being very hungry and tired. The doctor had to put 14 screws in my arm to fix it and then started my recovery.
  • The Struggle was Real

    The Struggle was Real
My arm required 5 months of physical therapy after I had surgery as I learned to do all the things with my right arm that I had taken for granted. I had to learn to be able to write again, to eat and to get dressed, I also had to get my strength back. It was a very hard time trying to keep up with my school work and at times I became disheartened because I could not play any sports. The encouragement from my doctor that I would be able to pitch again kept my spirits high.
  • Yankee Playoffs-Game 3 vs Boston Red Sox

Yankee Playoffs-Game 3 vs Boston Red Sox
The New York Yankees are my favorite team. Last year my dad surprised me and got tickets for the playoffs- game 3 against the Boston Red Sox. The excitement in the stadium was electrifying. The game itself was probably the worst in playoff history. The Yankees lost 16-1 including them having to use Austin Romine who is a catcher as a pitcher since they ran out pitchers they could use. We didn't get home to almost 1:30 am and I had to get to school the next day but it was one of the best times.
