    My sister's birth
On October 12 of 2009 my perspective of life changed completely when I held my newborn sister, because i realized that I was going to share everything with her. I was happy about it due to the fact that I wouldn't have to face life alone.
  • Receiving my Glasses

    Receiving my Glasses
I found out that I couldn't see properly at the age of nine, and on the first day of fourth grade, I wore glasses for the first time.
Having to add glasses to my life made me more responsible, of course after some broken and lost glasses. But until this day I have learned to be more careful.
  • First Roller coaster ride

    First Roller coaster ride
I get scared easily, but in this day I was more scared than ever but my mom made me go ride in the roller coaster and actually enjoyed it. This made me realize that fear is not real, it's just myself reacting to what is unknown.
  • My grandpa passed away

    My grandpa passed away
It was a really sad day for me, but especially to my mother. On that day I realized that everyone around will eventually pass away, which is why I must always enjoy the time I spend with friends and family.

  • Hanging out with friends for the first time

Hanging out with friends for the first time
It was such a weird experience because it was my first time out in the public without my parent's supervision, which made me feel grown up.
  • Second big responsibility

    Second big responsibility
I was assigned to take care of my sister for the first time ever, alone, without any adult supervision. My sister was 4 and I was 12.
it was the biggest responsibility ever given to me at the time, and I believe I did a good job because taking care of my sister now is a piece of cake.
  • Finding a Hobby

    Finding a Hobby
Every time I went to my grandma's house I would help her when she baked. She showed me how to make my own favorite treats, she shared her cooking recepies with me and even gifted baking supplies to me.
While trying to follow her baking recipes I discovered another hobby, baking. Although I don't do it often, it always brings me joy to share the desserts I do and it inquires me to learn how to make treats from other countries.
  • Another Hobby

    Another Hobby
On a really boring day at the beach I decided to explore the path of becoming an artist just for a hobby. Drawing is still my hobby, and looking back at my first drawings motivates me to keep going because it's really exciting to see how skills improve slowly over time.
Finding my favorite hobby taught me that if I want to be good at anything, practice is the key.

    My internet Friend
One of my best friends is a girl in Peru, that have never met in person but we have a very strong friendship.
We talk to each other almost daily, we help each other with our homework, we listen to each other's stories, etc. We have also sent ourselves letters and for her birthday I sent her a drawing and a chocolate.
We hope to meet each other in person one day. Our friendship is an example of trust and hope.

    Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Where I used to live, there is only sun and rain, but when I moved to Chicago I was amazed, me experiencing Autumn and Winter was amazing. It felt unreal to see the trees' leaves turn red and orange and to touch snow for the first time.
Since that day I have wanted to travel more.
  • My first walk home

    My first walk home
Walking back home from school is a rare thing that I like to do, especially since I do not live far away from school.
Walking from school back home for the first time felt amazing, I had so much freedom but the only reason I was able to it's because my parents think I am old and responsible enough.
This shows how every day I learn how to take care of myself in life.
  • My first concert

    My first concert
In the summer of 2017, I went to see my favorite band live, I had such a great time listening to my favorite songs, screaming the lyrics and dancing. The concert was almost 5 hours long but it felt 10 minutes long.
For me living the moment and enjoying it is so important because of the memories I am able to make and keep them for the rest of my ife.
  • Speech for English class

    Speech for English class
I dislike to give presentations and speeches for any class. I usually get nervous, my limbs start to shake, feel like I suddenly forgot how to speak and sometimes I even felt nauseous. However I had prepared a speech on a topic I really liked and had done so much research on, that it would feel horrible if I did not present it. So I faced my fears and was one of the first students to present.
