My first word
I said my first words when I was one year old. They were "mami", that is how I used to call my mother, and "agua", that means "water" in Spanish. -
A curious accent
When I was up to two years old I started to create elaborated sentences but not with a normal accent; my babysitting was Cuban and because of I spent a lot of time talking with her my Spanish accent was very similar to the Cuban accent. -
Starting to learn languages
I started to learn languages at the age of three at school. There, in my first year, I started to do classes of Catalan and Spanish (my two mother tongues). -
English, a new language
My first foreign language to learn was English. I began to say some words in this language when I was six years old and I was doing the first course of primary school. I don't remember so much about my first classes but I know that our teacher taught us loads of new words. -
An important prize
When I was seven years old, I participated in a competition of my school where I had to write a text in Catalan. I wrote a story called "The lost boat" and I won the first prize! For me was really important because at my school win this prize was really good valued and all students wanted to win it. -
Another pleasant award
After two years, when I was doing the third course of primary and I was nine years old, I won my second prize in the competition of writing of my school. This time I wrote a story called "Joan, the dressmaker" and I was really proud of myself too. -
Visiting London
The 11th September 2010, when I was nine years old, I caught a plane to London. I stayed four days in this city with my parents and my brother. I remember that I loved a lot this travel because I had practiced a lot my English talking with waitress and people of the hotel and because I had visited lots of monuments and did different activities that I enjoyed a lot like feeding squirrels with penauts at Sant James Park. I hope to go another time in the future to visit more monuments. -
French, a new language
When I was twelve years old, I started my first course of ESO. Then I decided to learn a new language, French. I did it because I wanted to talk more idioms and because for me French seemed an interesting language, maybe because of its accent. -
Academic classes
When I started first of ESO, a part from learning a new language, I also started to do classes in an academy (out of my school) to improve my English. This academy is called FIAC and there I do two classes of an hour and a half every week. Something that I remember of my firsts days is that I had to do an exam and I was very nervous but luckily, I got good marks and that I enjoied a lot with my new classmates during my first course there. -
An "English experience"
In this year of my live, a part from have started to learn a new language and have signed up in an academy to improve my English, I had also gone one week to an English camp with my high school. It was in Catalonia but I had English monitors and I did loads of different activities. This camp was very beneficial because I had a lot of fun with my friends and I practiced and improved my English. -
A "French experience"
This year, when I was doing the second course of ESO, I went to Montpellier, France. This travel of one week was organized by my school and thanks to it I had improved my French a lot because we were doing French classes every morning in an academy and because we had stayed in houses of French people. In this case, I was living with a friend in a flat of a women really nice called Madame Chamayou. I remember lots of things of this travel because I had a really positive experience. -
Another time in Montpeller
After one year, last April, I have gone to Montpellier another time by the same way; with my high school. I have gone to the same French academy but I have stayed in a different house with a women called Madame Azincot and with another friend. Also I have done some different activities and after one year, doing another time this travel I have noticed a really big improve of my control of this language and I have enjoyed lots of moments another time in this beautiful city. -
Nowadays
Actually, I'm 15 years old. I study my last course of ESO and I still go to English classes at FIAC. I can speak four different languages: Spanish, Catalan, English and French. My objectives associated with them are:
- Continue learning my mother tongues and talk more fluently in French and English.
- Get a title of level B2 in English and French next year.
- Learn other new languages after obtain these titles and continue improving these that I actually know including my mother tongues.
