A legindary band is formed
websight i got this off ofThe lead singer Gerard Way brother and drummer Matt pelissier formed the band shortly after the 9/11 attacks. The 9/11 attacks affected Gerard Way so much to the point he wanted to form a band and make the song "Skylines and Turnstiles" for the 9/11 attacks. Not long after guitarist Ray Toro it is said joined the band because Gerard couldent play the guitar and sing at the same time just yet. -
Getting noticed
websight i got this off ofThere first album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" was recorded three months after the formation of the band and released it in 2002 through Eyeball records. When they started to get noticed they were playing at the infamous venue, Big Daddy's. They gained a fan bass by offering free downloads through "PureVolume" and "MySpace." -
"Helena"
Youtubewebsight i got this off ofThe song Helena by MCR is made for his grandmother Elena Lee Rush. She meant a great deal to him. She even gave him his first car that was in the music video for the song "I'm not okay (i promise)" She tought him how to draw, paint, and sing. -
Becoming Famous
websight i got this off ofThey started to record their third studio album with Rob Cavallo who produced a lot of the Green Day albums. The album was origionally called "The Rise and Fall of My Chemical Romance" but in an interview with Kerrang! magazine Gerard said that that was what they were calling it at that moment but it wasn't the actual title. They ended up calling the album "The Black Parade." -
Injuries on set
websight i got this off ofDurring the making of vidoe "Famous Last words" Gerard Way and Bob Bryar were injered. Gerard Had a torn ligament in his ankle and Bob had a burn on his leg that ended up causing a severe staph infection that had to be constantly watched at the hospital. -
Tour time
websight i got this off ofthe black parade The Black Parade World Tour had 133 shows fearuring "Rise Against", "Thursday", and "Muse" as support acts. -
Bye bye Mikey
websight i got this off ofBassist Mikey Way left The Black Parade World Tour to spend time with his new wife, Alicia Simmons-Way. In Mikey's absince Matt Cortez took his place in the band. -
"Secret" shows
websight i got this off ofat The Roxy Theater in Los Angeles the band played two shows. These two shows were the first concerts they had played since Madison Square Gardon on May 2008. At the two shows they had also played a few new songs that were from the upcoming fourth album. Gerard said that he was most excited about the song titled "Death Before Disco". -

websight i got this off ofBob Bryar left the band and no one knows why he did exactly. Frank lero was the one to break the news to the world. -

websight i got this off ofPedicon, the drummer in MCR, was kicked out of the band because he was cought stealing from the band and even confessed to police after a show Auburn, Washington. -
The end on MCR
websight i got this off ofThe band never stated exactly why they split. But in a tweet Gerard stated that it was not because of issues within the band.
