    Fire in the hole
My family owned a farm which is how they would get their money. I lived their to take care of my parents and grand parents.Unfortunatly, though, It burned down and killed my parents and grand-parents. It burned down because a cow knocked down a lantern and the barn caught on fire. I started to look for a place to stay. My older siblings however already had families of their own and refused to take me in. Although they gave me enough money to move to america and create my own life.
  • Moving time!

I finally arrived in america at a place named Angel island. i had to go through a doctor examination, I guess americans dont allow diseased people to enter. Then i had to take a literacy test. Only babies and small children were allowed to not take the test. After that i went through the rest of the process . Scince I had no arrangments the officials gave me a dorm o stay in over the night.

    Getting to work
I finnally got to california and bought a pick axe. I chose a spot to start excavating and settled down. the fellow miners seem to have foud a lot so i think i can do the same. Today i found 2 Oz of gold. That's enough to buy 2 days worth of food. There is this one guy who found 7 Oz, he bought 6 days worth of food. Well, I guess that's what you expect from the California Gold Rush.
  • Jackpot

    Jackpot
In the scorching hot weather of mid summer I struck something unbeleivable. I found over 70 oz of gold. I could buy my own house in town with all the gold i found. It was the happiest day of my life. However, when i found it there was a huge fight over it. Thankfully someone stepped in broke it up. I then decided that i could get a real job and settle down.

By now I have a familly of my own to take are of. We had to move to sanfrancisco so i could get a new job. My wife also got a job with me. We got a job building a railroad that will stretch across the country. However, it is very dangerous. We recently started working through a mountain range. We have to use something called Nitro-gliserine to blow away the rock.
Every time we use it alleast one person dies.
