Coming to America for Work
My name is Mario Ballotelli of Italy.I have decided to come to the Country across the ocean called America. I have recently lost my job at the bakery and the recent high taxes are making me close to broke. I am going to try with what money I have to come to America. -
Homestead Act
Its been one month since I left for America. New legislation has been passed called "The Homestead Act". The government is giving land away to farmers for 5 years in hopes that they renovate the land. I have decided to save up my little pay that I earn in hopes to one day make the journey west to Oklahoma. -
Life is not what its cut out to be in America
Its been two months since I have come to the new country. I have gotten beat up and recently robbed of my little posesions. I was attacked by a group of irish men because of the descrimination against Italians. -
Looking for a job
I was recently fired from the factory because of the beating. My cousin Stephano is taking me to find work with him at Coney Island. I'm not looking forward to the screaming shouts of children and the spoiled smell of hot dogs. I'l still take anything as long as I don't have to work in the factory. -
Moving West
I recently quit my job as the hot dog vendor at Coney Island. The low wages and monotonous work have left me no choice but to quite my job and move west. The word on the street is that this upcoming April, the Oklahoma Land Rush will take place. This is part of the Organic Act. With the money I've saved up, I believe that I will be able to make the trip west. I will spend the next few months packing for my trip. -
Oklahoma Land Rush
Today was the Oklahoma Land Rush. I found a little plot of land only a quarter of a mile away from the nearby creek. My horse Mustang performed well today. He ran very hard and fast. He sadly took a bullet after we beat a man with a brown mustache. I predict that over a 100,000 men and families raced for the land today. I am extremely lucky to get one of the 42,000 parcels of land -
