Creating new working space
Trying to change the idea that school happens in lines of desks, we will be changing our lab and reconfiguring classrooms to create a more 21st design that supports collaboration and working together. If you physically change the space, then you mental can begin to change as well. -
1:1 implementation
JUSD is moving to 1:1 implementation which will need to change the mindset of our students, our teachers and our parents. -
Project Based learning in the classroom
Although we are an online school, the need to collaborate and create is key. We are working to adopt a new schedule that gives more time for students to work together and learn from each other through projecxt based learning. Using the computers to help facilitiate the information and transform the look of the classroom. -
Getting all JUSD students acccess to Online
With the adoption of 1:1 we have the ability to open up the learning. Creating concurrent enrollment for all JUSD students to be able to work with the traditional classroom but also create distance learning opportunities under our Rivercrest umbrella. -
CTE pathways to support new direction
Opening up the doors at Rivercrest has been a building experince. Each year we add to our ability to support students. We are looking to create 1-2 CTE tracks that give students the ability to work with relevent coursework and begin the transtion to the "real" world. -
Computer science for all
Building of the use of 1:1 and the idea of our students being digital natives, we need to develop a stronger push for Computer science. Looking to create more opportunities for students to expand their knowledge. -
Virtual Work from home learning
As students get more comfortable working with the 1:1 and develop an understanding that learning happens every where and at any time, we will be pushing to create more virtual work days. These will give parents and students more freedom but also work to create an focus that they must learn to work from anywhere.
