    Montezuma was born in Tenochtitlán the Aztec capital. The young Emperor to be was tough in the arts,sciences and in warfare. All of these things were taught to him in hope that he would be a fantastic Emperor, but nothing could really help him with what was to come.

    Cuitlahuac Montezuma’s only brother was mostly an army general or military based. Cuitlahuac was younger so he was not the one who was given the throne. After his brothers capture he rose to the throne only to die the same year as his brother.

    Montezuma succeeded his Uncle as Emperor of the Aztecs and became known for his pride and superstition. His coming to the throne was latter not very beneficial, his actions causing many wars with neighboring tribes. As a result of his actions, he was defeated as the spanish joined forces with tribes they had fought with.

The Aztecs endured much during his rule from smallpox brought by a conquistador to being overruled by Hernan Cortes. He brought glory and riches with his ascent to throne but also he brought with him the Aztecs destruction.

    Isabel Moctezuma was born in Tenachilon as her father was. Isabel married the last of the Aztec Emperors Cuauhtémoc. The rule of her and her husband took place during one year while her father was buisie with the Spanish after Montezuma’s brother had died. She was one of Montezuma's most known children.

    Montezuma was a highly religious ruler and did everything and anything to appease his gods. He sacrificed thousands of people his and of neighboring tribes. Once he even conquered a tribe sacrificing and eating many of the tribe at his come into power. Many people his and neighboring did not like this and began to riot and rally but were shut down by the Aztec Military.

They arrived in a very prime point because of a proffece made by his astrologers and priests that in 1519 their god would return to run the Aztecs.

    Montezuma Meets Hernan Cortes
    This day in time Montezuma met the man who would make his life come to an end. The Aztecs had never seen a horses and though it to be a gift from their gods. Thanks to Hernans visit the Aztecs would catch deadly smallpox, be in a great war and then be found taken over by the spanish, their whole area conquered. Hernan also chose a perfect year to come because their god was supposed to be back in 1519 also known as when Cortes came.

    Hernan Storms Tenochtitlán
    Hernan rallied together neighboring tribes and stormed the Aztec capital, Montezuma not wanting to fight them welcomed Cortes instead. Montezuma was scared of Cortez and let him rule the Aztecs secretly for several months because he was captured in his own home before another conquistador was sent to make sure Cortez did not keep everything for himself.

    Montezuma’s death is still debated some say he was stoned by his people because they no longer trusted him. Other scholars think that he may have been killed by the Spanish. Though he died his legacy still lives on as one of the last Emperors of the Aztecs.
