    (May 2 isn't the actual date.) Genghis Khan means "supreme conqueror." He changed the lives of the Mongolian nomads. Before he died in 1227, he had conquered all of Central Asia and started on China.

    (May 2 isn't the actual date.) Once the Mongol empire broke up, the Chinese gained control of them in the 17th century. The Chinese ruled Mongolia for hundreds of years.
