    The Black Death
    The Black Death began in China and was spread to Europe by infected fleas with the bacteria Yersinia Pestis. This plague killed 70 to 200 million people, nearly 1/3 to 2/3 of Europe's entire population. This caused many to become more distant with the church becuse may thought God caused this plauge because of sin.

    Printing Press

    Printing Press
    The printing press was invented by Johannes Gutenberg. It was able to use movable type to write books at a much faster pace, instead of having a scribe take nearly a day just to write one page of a book. The printing press was able to spread knowledge to many more now that books had become more affordable. The machine was made of wood and had clamps to hold down the sleeet of paper and a lever to print the ink onto the paper.

    "In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue'' and ended up in the Americas. He was believed to be the first person to discover the Americas, but he found many native tribes that could have been dating back to 20,000 years of already living in this so-called "new" land. He didn't even mean to find this new place he meant to take a trip from Europe to Asia, though it is beleived that he did eventually make it to Asia he is still known as one of the greatest discoverers.

    Copernicus is often known as the founder of modern astronomy. His research about space and the solar system led to the theory that it is the Earth that revoloves around the Sun and that the Sun is the center of the universe and noit the Earth.

Luther was going against the church because he believed that you should create your own salvation and not have to pay for it. But while he was protesting the church many were protesting him for going against the curch, they also thouhght that he should be killed for being a heretic.

    Luther's 95 theses
    Martin Luther believed that you should decide your salvation and not a piece of paper, at this time the church was selling indulgences. These were pieces of paper you would pay for to get your way into heaven and not have to go through purgatory or be sent to hell. So Luther wrote 95 theses or arguement against the chruch and nailed them to his town's church door.

    The globe theatre was the first ever theatre that he and his acting group "The Lord Chamberlain's Men" had for themselves to act and not have to be constantly moving around to try to find places to put and his shows.

    Galileo's Telescope
    Galileo believed that the Sun the center of the universe and for this, he was called a heretic. Someone told him about the eyeglasses some were using to magnify their sight, this gave him the idea for the telescope. He put three eyeglasses together and looked through them and was able to see the different planets and how they have moons of their own so it couldn't be possible that everything revolves around the Earth.
