California was admitted as a free state. The slave trade was abolished in Washigton D.C. very strict fugtive slave act was passed. Led to G.A. platform. -
Kanas/Nebraska Act
Allowed kanas & Nebraska to chosse if they wanted slaves, notherners complained. caused war to brake out known as bleeding Kanas, 200 people were killed. -
The Geogia Platform
Georgia could only agree to comprimise if : Noth stopped trying to ban slavery in new territories. The north strictly enforced the fugitive slave act. -
Dred Scott Case
Destoyed all comprimises of the previous 30 years Dred Scott sued his owner because he lived in the free Northern states for years & had to move back south with owner. Slaves were property not citizens. -
The Election of 1860
Albraham Lincon won the election. He did not win any southern states. Directly led to secessin in the sdouth. December 20,1860 South Carolina became the first state to secede from the U.S. -

Camp dor union soliders 13,000 union soliders died in the camp. Prisoners suffered from the starvation. 45,000 soliders were held there overthe war. Prison commander was hanged for war crimes. -
