ESEA-The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (1965). This act provided additional funds to improve the education of certain categories of children including children with disabilities. This case was a class action lawsuit brought out by parents and guardians on behalf of all out of school students with disabilities. -
The Final court ruling
The district was ordered to provide ongoing support for children that have disabilities. This case broadened and it had an impact on the community. Mills established the "zero reject" principle of PL 94-142 -
The Historical Legal Ruling Supports the heads of students with Disabilities
With this case, students with any type of disability is able to get the support they need no matter whether they are in school or out of school. No matter whether you have a disability, you can not be denied services based on the type of disability you have based on weather the school has the resources to help them.
