  • My First Cell Phone

    My First Cell Phone
My first cell phone was a 2001 Nokia 3360. While it was not the first form of global communication, it was the catalyst for the "instant gratification" society we find ourselves in today. I was involved in a lot of after-school activities as a child, so my parents gave me a cell phone to communicate pick up times and locations. I remember feeling happy that they trusted me with the responsibility since this was not the norm back then.
  • My First Ipod

    My First Ipod
The ipod classic 4th generation was my first ipod. I remember was so excited to play all of my music while away from a computer. Portable digital audio players were a major advancement to the music industry because people could enjoy the music they wanted at any time, as long as they paid for it (until illegal downloading started). It was not the first of its kind, but like many others, I fell into the Apple trap. They revolutionized integration for mobile devices, and it won them the market.
  • My First Laptop

    My First Laptop
I received my first laptop my freshman year of high school, it was a Lenovo. I was surprised and elated to unwrap it on Christmas day, it was definitely the best gift I got that year. I was more disappointed that my younger siblings also each received one. Laptops changed the world immensely, making the processing power that was once difficult to contain in a single room, small enough to fit in your backpack. And now, the power they contain can topple nations.
  • First Thermal Imaging Camera

    First Thermal Imaging Camera
The first time I used a thermal imaging camera was on a drone with the fire department. I was doing a research project into the optimization of drone usage within public safety offices. It is still, to this day, one of the coolest experiences I have. I was in awe of the ability to determine heat signatures 500 yds in the air, and the efficiency in accomplishing a search and rescue mission utilizing this technology.
  • My First Drone

    My First Drone
The first drone I bought was a DJI Phantom 3, it was exhilarating to take off and shoot my own footage. I am a licensed commercial drone pilot, so I had flown drones before, but it was different having my own. Studying aeronautical engineering and actually getting to witness it in action are two different things. Drones have turned the world upside down, allowing not only for better consumer video production, but also for more advanced military weapons and reconnaissance.
