After that Germany used the Zimmerman Telegram and promised Mexico to recover there territory that was lost in the Mexican-American war. So President Woodrow Wilson declared War against Germany

    Once WW1 finally ended there was peace at last. Sadly millions of lives were lost to get there. Nine millions solders were lost over seven million were left disabled, And at least five million were lost to terrible weather conditions, disease and starvation. Some causes of WW1 were the downfall of the four monarchies, ended colonialism and became more nationalistic, changed economical balance leaving Europe in debt and the US the leading creditor in the world.

    European powers demanded that Germany pays the damage from the past four years of the war that they were responsible for but Germany disagrees. So the Dawes Plan was enforced so Germany would pay the reparation over time as there economy improved. During the last settlement the Young plan was enforced so that the total that they owed was reduced and was able to be paid off during the Great Depression.

    The start of the Great Depression was from the stock market crash of 1929. Sixteen million shares were traded at wall street, all of them ended up worthless. Those investors who had bought stocks were all wiped out. After that people were homeless with no jobs. Farmers could not afford to keep there crops alive so, starvation was starting to spread quickly. Once President Roosevelt was elected within the first couple days he passed legislation that aimed to stabilize agriculture and create jobs.
