The boom of population in California becuase of rumored gold a plenty. -

Half of all black migrants were settling in what is now San Fransisco and Sacramento. -
Oregon and Colorado
By this time, the black population of these two states were skyrocketing with settlers coming in. -
Homestead Act
A law dictating that anyone who was old enough could buy some land from the government. -
The foundation of Omaha
The city Nebraska proved to be a good place for freshly freed slaves, attracting residents from all over the country. -
Texas goes big.
The population of independent black farmers in Texas begins to grow exponentially over the next 30 years. -
Nicodemus
Founded as an independant Black city in the west. The city was nearly wiped out by a big blizzard years later. -
Trains and people.
Train companies bring in thousands and thousnads of workers into California. Most being Black. -
Dearfield, Colorado
Founded by Oliver Toussaint Jackson, the town was another attempt at an independent black settlement. It lasted a few years before Denver killed it. -
World war 2 starts a boom. (in more ways than one)
With the attack at Pearl Harbor, Worldwar two creates a land of opportunity for black workers in the west. Promptly leaving them all unemployed after the fact.
