    Beggining of Conspiracy
    A small group of creol revolutionaries that included: Miguel Hidalgo, priest in charge of Dolores, Guanajuato, Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, spouse to Corregidor of Queretaro and Ignacio Allende, captain to Queen's Cavarly Regiment, all get together secretly to form a conspiracy and a plan to overthrow the Spanish Government.

    Initiation

    Miguel Hidalgo begins the independence movement after the conspiracy. Fails to end the battle and get’s killed alongside his army.
  • Conspiracy of Queretaro is Discovered

    Conspiracy of Queretaro is Discovered
    Marino Galvan betrayed the group and leaked information about the conspiracy to his superior. The Spanish, alarmed by this information go to Epigmenio Gonzalez'es house and arrest him for treason. Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, being alerted by his husband is able to alert Ignacio Allende, Miguel Hidalgo and Juan Aldama before they were even caught.
  • Grito de Dolores

    Grito de Dolores
    Miguel Hidalgo rings the church bells of Dolores, Guanajuato at 2 AM in the morning to iniciate the independence movement. Alongside Allende and Aldama, Hidalgo unifies meztisos, creoles and indians with the Virgin of Guadalupa and convinces everybody to join the cause and fight for freedom from the Spanish crown.

    Battle in Guanajuato
    Miguel Hidalgo and the insurgent army arrive in Guanajuato to find that the Spaniards are hidden inside the Alhondiga de Granaditas. Juan Jose Martinez, el Pipila is able to burn down the wooden gate that protected Juan Antonio de Riano and the Spanish people. Once destroyed, the insurgent army kills everybody and destroys the city. It was a very chaotic attack.
  • Battle at Monte de las Cruzes

    Battle at Monte de las Cruzes
    After having defeated and caputring the cities of Zacatecas, Valladolid and San Luis Potosi, the insurgent army marched towards the capital. When arriving at Monte de las Cruzes, the insurgent army beats the Spanish but suffers a lot of wounds. Miguel Hidalgo, thinking to help his people, retreats from Mexico City and defies Allende's strategy

    Spanish troops defeat Insurgent army in Guadalajara
    The rebel army moves towards Guadalajara and is attacked by General Felix Maria Calleja and the royal army. There was a big explosion due to gasoline incite that scatters the rebel troops. Meanwhile, Allende and Hidalgo are moving North to Coahila and Texas.

    Miguel Hidalgo's Execution
    Miguel Hidalgo is caught in Texas and trasladated to Chihuahua. There he is stripped off his holy position as priest and found guilty of treason and herasy by the Holy Office of Inquesition. He is later executed and his head hung in the Alhondiga de Granaditas.

    Jose Maria Morelos takes Miguel Hidalgo’s place as independence leader and promulgates a new constitution. He is captured and killed in 1815 by spanish army.
  • Morelos rises to power

    Morelos rises to power
    Jose María Morelos y Pavon, a mestizo priest would take power after Hidalgo's death. He was the leader of a small but very efficent guerrilla army that created a plan to ambush Mexico City by surrounding it from all sides. He later incorporated a new constitution with the help of the Congress of Chilpancingo in 1813.
  • Constitution of Apatzingan, Morelos Falls

    Constitution of Apatzingan, Morelos Falls
    Felix Calleja fights and retakes Valladolid, Cuernavaca, Oaxaca, Cuatla, Chilpancingo and Taxco. The constitution of Apatzingan is promulgated by the insurgent army shortly before Morelos is captured in the fall of 1815. He, like Hidalgo was found guily of treason and executed in Mexico City.

    Resistance

    It consists of numerous guerrilla battles in the jungle led by Vicente Guerrero and Guadalupe Victoria. Guerrero led the army of Oaxaca and Guadalupe Victoria the one in Puebla. In 1819, Viceroy Juan Ruiz de Apodaca made a radical move and offered indulto to soilders who laid down their arms.

    Consumation

    End of Mexican Independence. Iturbide makes a clever move and “helps” the insurgents. He created the Plan de Iguala and gives New Spain it’s independence. Army of Tres Garantias is created and in charge of making sure everything goes to plan.
  • Plan de Iguala

    Plan de Iguala
    Agustin Iturbide meets with Guerrilla leader Vicente Guerrero to make plans about an agreement. They came up with the Plan de Iguala that stated that Mexico would be a Constitutional Monarchy, that Catholicism would be the only religion and that peninsulares and creoles were equal. The army of Tres Garantias would protect this agreement and make sure everything was going according to plan.
  • End of War of Independence and the Treaty of Cordoba

    End of War of Independence and the Treaty of Cordoba
    Viceroy O' Donoju accepts Iturbides Plan de Iguala in the Treaty of Cordoba and gives New Spain it's independence. Iturbide becomes the emperor of Mexico and walks triumphantly into the capital.
