    Miguel Ramos Arizpe was a Mexican priest and politician who served as deputy in 1810. He served as justice minister for Presidents Guadalupe Victoria, Manuel Gómez Pedraza, Valentín Gómez Farías and for Antonio López de Santa Anna.

    In early 1824 sanctioned the Constitutive Act of the Federation ( prelude to the Mexican Constitution of 1824) in Oct Guadalupe Victoria was elected first president of the new Republic of Mexico
    Victoria was the only president who completed his full term in more than 30 years of an independent Mexico. He died in 1843 at the age of 56 from epilepsy in the fortress of Perote, where he was receiving medical treatment. On 8 April of the same year, it was decreed that his name would be written .
  • Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna

    Antonio López de Santa Anna, born on February 21, 1794, in Jalapa, Mexico, became a military captain and was elected president in 1833, known for his efforts in staving off Spain’s attempt to recapture the country. Santa Anna was later involved in conflicts with France and the U.S., including the secession of Texas, and was seen as responsible for much of Mexico’s turmoil. He died on June 21, 1876. He remained in power until 1836
