Miguel Hidalgo was the dissident. Doña Josefa, Ignacio Allende and other united in Epigmenio Gonzales house to plan a rebellion. -
Conspiracy of Queretaro Discovered
Initiation Spanish government searches Epigmenio Gonzalez in Queretaro, in his house they found a great amount of arms and ammunition, and he was arrested. All this because Marino Galvan was the responsible for leaking the information. In this same day Josefa knew they had been discovered and told Ignacio Perez to tell Hidalgo so they could start acting in advanced and prevent their defeat. -
El Grito de Dolores
Initiation Juan Aldama informed Hidalgo about their discovery, and immediately in an act of prevention, at 2 am, decided to act, he went to the church and rang the bells, where all his parishioners gathered together, in great numbers, and h made an invitation speech in order to take arms and he souted eagerly to pump his audience, people answered eagerly and immediately, and they bgan their way to San Miguel where they began to gather hundreds of recruits. -
The Seige of Guanajuato
Initiation Hidalgo arrives to Guanajuato joined by hundreds of workers from the mines, and as they began to attack, Riaño gave a order to attack in return, beginning the war of La Alhondia de las Granaditas. The first wave was destroyed, and before the second wave he took soldiers out strategically but was killed in the act. After these the army lead by the Pipila, they burned the gate and indians got into the central patio, they had taken the city. -
The Battle of Monte de las Cruces
Initiation Hidalgo marching with his army towards Mexico City. In here Hidalgo proved that a humungous army could defeat a small, well organized professional small army. Spaniards walked away into the city and Hidago planned as he was camping. -
Battle of the Calderon Bridge
Initiation Calleja defeated the rebel army. Hidalgo, Allende and other leaders had the luck to escape north with about 1000 men. Calleja hunted them and eventually captured them, killing the top leaders. -
Miguel Hidalgo Exectued
Consolidation As he escaped to Texas for help, he wa surprised and captured. After being fussiliated, his head was hung in the corner of he Alhondiga de Granaditas in Guanjuato. -
Jose Maria Morelos Executed
Resistance Caught at Tezmalaca, he fought until the congress could escaped but he was captured. After being sent to Mexico City, he was executed. -
Plan de Iguala
Consummation At this point, the Viceroy of Apodaca resigned his positions secretly, and made a plan with Iturbide. Iturbide thinking of the future, was smart enough to put himself as the most probable emperor of New Spain. Odonoju, highest rank in New Spain, was part of the confirmation of the independence. -
End of Independence War
Consummation The "Ejercito Trigarante" entered Mexico City after 11 years and 11 days of war. And more than 3 centuries of Spanish Opression.
