The initiation is the first stage of the independence movement, it ends when Hidalgo and the other independence leaders are captured. -
The Conspiracy
Criollos such as Juan Aldama, Ignacio Allende, Miguel Hidalgo, and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez start conspiring against the spanish government in Doña Josefa's house. This led to the whole independence movement. -
The Conspiracy is Discovered
The conspiracy by Hidalgo, Allende, Aldama and La Corregidora is discovered by the spanish. This led to the independence movement starting prematurely. -
Grito de Dolores
Miguel Hidalgo starts the independence movement at Dolores by giving the famous rallying "grito" to call the people to arms. This is the start of the independence movement. -
Guanajuato
Hidalgo and his insurgent army marched to Guanajuato where the spanish army was holed up in the Alhóndiga de Granaditas. El Pípila single-handedly burned down the door of the Alhóndiga, enabling the insurgent army to enter. -
Monte de Las Cruces
Battle between the insurgent army and the spanish army. The battle was won by the insurgents and enabled them to march towards Mexico City. However, Miguel Hidalgo did not want the army to go to Mexico City after seeing how the pillaged Guanajuato. -

The second stage of the independence movement. It was led by Jose María Morelos and ended when he was captured. -
Battle of Calderón Bridge
Battle between the insurgent army and the spanish army. The battle was lost by the insurgents and they were forced to retreat north. This eventually led to the capture of Miguel Hidalgo and the other independence leaders. -
Execution of Independence Leaders
Miguel Hidalgo, Ignacio Allende and the other insurgence leaders are executed by the firing squad after being captured in Chihuahua. Hidalgo is decapitated and his head displayed on a pike next to the alhóndiga. The independence movement is left without a leader. -
Congress Of Chilpancingo
Congress called by Jose Maria Morelos. The sentimientos de la nación was written there. -
Battle of Temalaca
Battle which the insurgent army lost. Jose María Morelos was captured and the army was left without a leader. -

Resistance
Third stage of the independence, it was led by Vicente Guerrero when he fought against Agustin de Iturbide. It ends when Guerrero and Iturbide unite under the Plan de Iguala and form the Ejército de Tres Garantías. -

End of the Independence. Ends up with Mexico becoming an independent country with Iturbide as the first emperor. -
Plan de Iguala
The Plan de Iguala is presented by Agustin Iturbide to Vicente Guerrero. They join forces and form the Ejército de las tres Garantías -
Mexican Independence
Mexico becomes independent after the signing of the Treaty of Córdoba when Agustín Iturbide enters Mexico City victorious and the Constitution of Apatzingán.
