A priest in Dolores, Mexico rang a chuch bell and called an end to spanish rule.Father Hidalgo soon led an army of more than 50,000 men across Mexico. Then in 1811 they captured Father hidalgo and executed him. After Hidalgo's death Gutierrez decided to attack on TX so Mexico can gain it's independence. -

The Old 300 Colony
site. The Old 300 families started in jan 1821. It started with Moses Austin who got a permit allowing him to settle 300 families in to Texas but before thst could happen he died. So his son Stephen F austin tried to take over so he went to San antonio and talked with a spanishgovernor and by the end of the summer the 300 families were setteled. -
