March 9 1847 general scott landed at veracruz with ten thousand soldiers. The went in to the mexican territory so they could surender. Scott got 260 miles past the mexican national highway. -

1848 Feb 2 a treaty was signed that rio grande the nucleus river is the mexican american border. The us agreed to sell most of north california to rio grande. Under the treaty mexico also recognised the us annexation of texas.
