Fast forward into the 21st century, and stem cells from the blood are actuality used to fight disease. Even used to help treat cancer patients. Last year on November 1st scientists were looking into treating Alzheimers disease with this.

    Originally, nanomedicine was considered a possibility in 1959 when Richard Feynman introduced it at his lecture However, nanomedicine has really developed in the 21st century. It controls, repairs, changes, and constructs the whole human biological system at a molecular level. Because humans are just biology. So they used a way smaller form biology to help fight diseases.

Today in the 21st century, the modern version of the Jarvik 7 is known as the SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart. artificial hearts have become much more successful in the making, and overall outcome. Someone who has to wait for a transplant can live on an artificial for up to 7 years.

Now, as technology has improved, we are able to create more virtual things that help us from finding veins, preforming surgery, or helping PTSD patients.

Bionic prosthetics have evolved so much over the years. So many people in the world have had an amputee of some sort. In 2018, over 31,000 prosthetics are sold to help those who need it. They function almost as good as normal limbs with today's technology

The first rough draft was completed in 2000, however the final map was created in 2003 was created by many institutions like the DOE and the NHGRI. This project was to figure out, and map the whole human body and every piece of DNA in it so we could get a better understanding of our race and how to better ourselves.

    The first ever facial transplant was done by Professor Bernard Devauchelle, and assisted by Professor Jean-Michel Dubernard in 2005. In the world we live in today, about 40 facial transdplants have been done worldwide. Not only does this help with people who cant chew, breath, or even blink normally. But it also helps with peoples self confidence. Most of these people either suffer from birth defects, facial abnormalities, or are burn victims.

It has a few co founders, one of them being a woman named Anne Wojcicki. This has helped many people discover their heritage which is a very important aspect in peoples lives. Its called 23 and me because we have 23 chromosomes in a strand of DNA. Obviously as science improves, so does the more we can test just by some spit.
