I was Born
I was born on Sept. 17th 1999, as Neevi Vikas Shah. I was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. I was born on a very religious day for my religion, Jainism. Everyone was very happy about my birth and we celebrated it with a huge party! Everyone loved me and my chubby cheeks (I was so fat as a baby)! But now, people think I should eat more (because I'm so skinny)! -

Survived Earthquake Bhuj (the 2001 Gujarat Earthquake)
The 2001 Gujarat earthquake occurred on January 26, 2001, at 08:46 AM local time. It was a rare epicenter earthquake. During the quake, I was sleeping and didn't know a thing- my mom thought my dad had me, and my dad thought my mom did. When they finally realized that none of them had me, my dad ran up the stairs of our building and brought me down safely. The earthquake was a 7.6 or 7.7 magnitude one and had an X (intense) intensity. Luckily, we only had to survive for 2 minutes! -
First Day of School (Ever)
I was so excited for my first day of school! My school's name was Experimental school, and it was in Surat, Gujarat, India. I had my new backpack and uniform on. Kindergarten had started! I had many fun moments but I also had some unhappy ones (like falling down and getting stitches on my eyebrows). I was only 3 when I started Kindergarten( in India kindergarten starts earlier). -
Immigration from India to Canada
We (my family and I) immigrated from India to Canada in September of 2003. We immigrated here because my parents wanted a good education for me. When we got to Canada, we were freezing! In India, the weather is so hot, so we weren't used to the coldness in Canada yet and also, November is a really cold month for someone to immigrate! -

When I went to India (for a trip)
I went to India for 4 weeks (End of 2007 to Jan. 2008). During this time, I went to India to catch up with my family. We went to places like Sammed Shikar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and many more. During our stay, we had a lot of fun! I met so many new people who I had never known before. Another good thing about my trip was that my best friend Darshini also came to India, and we were versing each other in Uttrayan,a kite festival. -
Grade 5 Graduation and When I got my Principal's Choice Award
Today was the day I graduated from one of my favourite years of school- Grade 5. Today was also the day I got my Principal's Choice Award for leadership from the OPC (Ontario Principal's Council). Now if you ever walk into McKinnon PS (my school in Grade 5), you will probably see my name on a special plague on the awards wall, with all the other winners. -
Mansfield Trip
In November 2010, I went on the Grade 6 Mansfield Trip. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. I had the best cabinmates (they were all my friends)! We had a lot of fun playing team games, scavenger hunts, learning about the aboriginals, and even playing wolf prowl. It even snowed while we were there! It was very cold, but we still had a great time! -
My French (Francais) medal
On the last day of school, at the awards assembly, I got a french ( francais) medal! I was so surprised and so happy! I said thank you to my french teacher, Ms. Klein (but I don't think she heard) and quickly sat back down. I was so glad about my accomplishment!
