    Magna Carta was a charter created in order to protect the people against heavy-handed and arbitrary acts done by the king as well as establish fudamental rights as trail by jury and due process law.

    The Mayflower Compact was the first governing document of the Plymouth Colony. It was written by separastist Congregationalisy "Saints" whom later were called Pilgrims. They had gone to the new world fleeing from religious persecution in England.

    The Petition of Right limited the king's power, stating that he cannot imprision/punish anyone but by lawful judgement of his peers. It also said that the king could not impose material law in time of peace or impose a requirement of homeowners to shelter troops without the homeowner's consent.

    The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies. They met at Carpenter's Hall in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania to petition the British government for multiple grievances, and, without meaning to, began the start to the American Revolution.

    First Shots Fired at Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the American Revolution, taken place in Massachusetts. British troops had moved in to seize control of the colonists' military supplies and arrests revolutionaries. Thanks to the warning of Paul Revere, Minutemen and American volunteers were able to fight back the troops and send them retreating.

    The Second Continental Congress was a convention of delegrates of the thirteen colonies after the battle at Lexington and Concord. There, they managed war efforts, seized arsenals, drove royal officals out, and besiged the British army. This was all done with the help of the appointed general, George Washington.

    The Declaration of Independence was a document that declared the thirteen colonies' freedom from Britain. Though it was formally decalred on July 2nd and approved by the congress on July 4th, it wasn't signed until August 2nd.
