The Mayflower was a ship that sailed across the ocean blue to set forth opon America. The ship was full of people who wanted to start a new life, setting England apart. They fought through hardships when they forth opon the new land. -

The Declaration of Independance was signed in 1776 in July. The founding fathers signed the living document. Even 2 of the fathers had their birthdays on the 4th, when the Declartion was signed. -

The purchase was made during 1803-1804 when Jefferson choose to purchase the land. It includes Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas and Louisiana. -
Gold rush
The gold rush started in California in 1848. When gold was discovered people came rushing down to california to find gold and silver. Food was getting to a higher price, because of the big boom. -
Civil War
It began when America began to split between two sides: a side with slaves: another with no slaves at all. The two sides fought and all that resolved was yet another war. The Civil War lasted 4 years and the side with no slaves won. -

Thomas Edison created the first light bulb made out of low current electricity, a small carbonized filament, and an improved vacuum inside the light bulb. After many fails, he finally got the right idea. -

World War 1 was a war that got America and the World included. Many countries were against each other, like Russia and Germany. America started making treches in the ground for cover in battle. -

The bombing of Pearl Harbor was a devistating event when the Japanise attacked without warning. People were killed and many others were wounded. About 2,400 service men were killed, while about 1,000 people were wounded. -

Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. He was assassinated by a man that hated him because of what he belived. He belive that everyone should have equal rights, including blacks. -
Moon Landing
The first man on the moon was Neil Armstrong. It was the first ever time for anyone to be on the moon, so it was an acomplishment. He had said this qoute " That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." -
