Vladek and Anja meet for the first time and they slowly start to fall for each other -
Wedding
Vladek and Anja fall in love and they get married! -
Hospital
Anja needed to go to the hospital in early 1938, and on their way there, they see a Nazi flag. It was a sign. -
The draft
Vladek gets drafted to fight in the upcoming war -
WWII
Germany invaded Poland which started WWII -
Fighting in war
Vladek is drafted to fight in the war and he is first taken to a POW camp and then a labor camp -
Relocating
Vladek was now released to go home to his family for a while. They too his son away and he never saw him. After that, he and Anja got shifted to the Sosnowiec quarter -
Richieu died
Richieu, Vladek's and Anja's son, died from poisonous gas along with Tosha and her children. Sadly, his parents didn't find out until later. -
Hiding
Vladek, Anja, and some relatives go hiding in a bunker until they know the Nazis left. Vladek's cousin, Haskel, helps to let Anja and him escape and he also helps to provide a job for them. -
Mrs. Motonowa
Vladek and Anja have gone into hiding in Sosnowiec. They stay in Mrs. Motonowa's barn for a while until something comes up -
Auschwitz and seperation
While Anja and Vladek hid, they came across 2 smugglers who were willing to take them to Hungary, On the way there, the smugglers betray them and turn them over to the Nazis. The Nazis then take them to Auschwitz, where Vladek and Anja get separated -
Hope and money
Vladek is treated very badly at his new camp. He was starting to lose hope when a Catholic priest at the camp told him how lucky his prisoner number was. After that Vladek started teaching a Kapo English in exchange for food and clothing. -
Mancie and Anja
A girl named Mancie, an S.S's lover, worked occassionally at Auschwitz. Vladek and Mancie met one day and he asked if Mancie knew Anja and she said yes. So, Mancie helped Vladek and Anja by sending letters from Vladek to Anja once in a while. -
Anja
Vladek goes to Birkenau, where Anja was stationed, as part of a work detail. He was really happy! -
Reunited
Birkenau was sending a group of girls to transfer over to Auschwitz. Vladek tried everything and finally got Anja in the same place as him!! -
The march
All the prisoners were forced to march to Gross-Rosen. If you didn't walk fast enough you would get shot -
Dachau
After the march, people were sent to a cattle train in Dachau and they basically sat there until they died. Many people died there. -
Americans come
The war is about to come to an end when the Americans arrive. There, they give personal jobs to Vladek and Shivek and they also get food -
End of war
the war finally ends and vladek and his friends who survived were set to go finally! -
Anja and Vladek live happily ever after
Vladek goes to the Jewish Organization and meets Anja there and live happily ever after!
