In the 1840's, the people of the United States have come to belive that it was their nations "Manifest Destiny" to keep growin westward. -

Expanding
While time passes the united states started to expand until they continue a conflict with mexico declaring war. -
Texas becomes a state
Some americans even wanted the united states to take over mexico and panama, the same year texas became a state. -
War on Mexico
The united states declared war on mexico due to their lack of cooperation. -
The war has finally ended!
Fighting between Mexican guerrillas and U.S. troops continued for several months afterward. -
Kidnappers
6 years after the war fought between Mexico and the United colored peoploe were specificaly warned about kidnappers and slave catchers. So they had to keep their eyes peeled. -
Runaways!
Then in the meanwhile, slaves were running away from thier masters as far as they possibly could. Some of them were lucky and made it to one of the slave free states (Boston), and some where unfortunately -
Painting
Around the time of june this picture was painted represent these people planning out route because they are always on the run. It must have always been a struggle for them to keep quiet all the time. -
End of the manifest destiny
There was really no certain time of when the manifest detiny had ended but i know that it ended when they owned the land coast to coast.
