    Lincoln ran for president against Stephen Douglas, John Breckinridge, and John Bell. This was about how Lincoln ran for president. Lincoln won the election because he was strong on removing slavery and having state representatives (“United States Presidential Election of 1860).
  • South Carolina Secedes

    South Carolina Secedes
    South Carolina left the Federal Union. This was about how South Carolina left the Federal Union. This occurred because of a growing argument about the expansion of slavery that reached over into Mexico. They pulled away because, they disagreed with Lincoln about ending slavery (South Carolina Secession (U.S. National Park Service)).

    The Confederation Army was formed when about six secede states met in Alabama to put together a government of their own. The Confederation Army was a group separate from the United States Government. These representatives created their own group away from the United States government because, of conflict over slavery between the North and the South (“States Meet to Form Confederacy).

    The Battle of Shiloh took place somewhere in southwest Tennessee. The Union took a win in this battle. The reason this battle was fought was because it would allow General Ulysses S. Grant to begin a huge project near the Mississippi Valley (“Shiloh).

    Abraham Lincoln was the one who made and signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The Emancipation Proclamation was a document sign that stated “all slaves in the United Stated shall be set free.”. This document was created in order to put an end to the “bloody” Civil War.

    This battle is considered a great win for the Union it gave them complete control over the Mississippi River. This victory would help lead them to a win of the war. This was great help considering their recent loss in the Battle of Gettysburg (“Vicksburg).

    The Battle of Gettysburg is considered on of the bloodiest battles. Altogether their were almost 50,000 casualties.This battle is marked important because this was General Robert E. Lee’s plan to invade the Confederates (Gettysburg).

    This re-election of President Lincoln was an easy win as the end of the Civil War came and all slaves were free. Many people had voted for. Lincoln to have a second term in office.     When Robert E. Lee surrendered he ultimately ended the Civil War. He surrender as there was no way for him to escape where him and his army were trapped. This was a very important part of the Civil War because it ended the Civil War (“Robert E. Lee Surrenders).

    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. The assassination took place in Ford’s Theater. Lincoln was assassinated for the Union winning the war.
