A conflict between communist North Korea, supported by China, and South Korea, supported by the United States. The Koreans had a home field advantage and the war was mostly fought with guerrilla warfare and air strikes. -

A thirteen day confrontation between USSR supported Cuba and the United States. Threats of nuclear warfare were prominent. -
Assassination of John F. Kennedy
Lee Harvey Oswald was a lone gunman, who shot the president during a parade. Oswald was shot and killed before he could be put on trial. -
Man on the Moon
Neil Armstrong lands on the moon, to be the first human ever to do so. This was a major accomplishment and put America in the lead of the space race, -
