He was born on October 2, 1969 in the coastal city of Porbandar, India. -
COMMITMENT
He married Kastubai Nakanj at the age of 13, to whom he had been engaged since he was 6 years old without his knowing it. -
STUDIES
His family sends him to study in London, at a university called the Inner Temple.
he began to frequent the Theosophists, who introduced him to the reading of the first Indian classic, the Bhagavad Gita. -
CONGRESS
He went to South Africa and founded the newspaper called "The Indian Opinion" and created the Natal Indian Congress. -
RETURN
He returned to India and joined the Indian national movement. -
JUDICIAL SENTENCE
Gandhi was arrested in March and sentenced to serve 6 years in prison for a campaign of civil disobedience. -
RELEASE FROM JAIL
Upon his release from prison, Gandhi realized that the political landscape had changed, as the Indian movement had split in two. -
JAIL
It took Gandhi 8 years for independence, since on August 9, 1942 he was arrested. In jail he found out that his wife had died. in 1947 Gandhi achieved independence. -
DEATH
On January 30, Gandhi was assassinated at the age of 78 by a fanatic from New Delhi, India.
