    Gandhi Negotiates with Viceroy Lord Irwin for many things. Civil disobedience was cancelled, prisoners were released, and the salt tax was removed. Gandhi started to make things better for those in India.

    Gandhi fasted for another 21 days to show support for the lower-class Indian citizens. These people are called "untouchables" and are treated very poorly. Gandhi tried to make things better for these people, and this was one of the things he did.

    After years of protests, the British finally agree to withdraw from India. This allowed for the Indians to have better rights and to control themselves. Gandhi played a HUGE part in this.

    Pakistan was created because the Muslims in India wanted a separate place to live other than Hindu-dominated India. Gandhi protested this, wanting Hindus and Muslims to live together, but sadly he failed and Pakistan was created. This was a big issue for him in the debate of peace between religions.

    While attending prayer meeting, Gandhi is shot and killed by a Hindu man named Nathuram Godse, who was upset that Gandhi was so tolerant of the muslims.
