    This court case, while focused on racial segregation, also happened to include Special needs in the end result.   • Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EHA)

    Protects the rights of all handicapped children in the sense that it forces schools to educate special needs students as well as protects them from discrimination based on their physical/mental capabilities.   • Every Student Succeeds Act

    This is the legislation that replaced the NCLB act. It is a revised law that includes children with disabilities specifically rather than just neurotypical children with special circumstances. On the flip side, it also takes accountability off of the specialized staff for these special needs kids.
