Colon Cancer Testing Pt. 2
At age 45 men should do a colon cancer test. The patient should talk to their health care provider to see if they need to test for colon cancer right away, or wait a few years closer to when they are 50. The type of colon test that will be used is the Colonoscopy. For that test a doctor will use a colonoscopy to look inside someones rectum and colon. There is a lot of preparation to make sure you have no extra waste inside of your body and that everything is emptied through the anus. -
Prostate Cancer Testing
Testing the prostate in men should be performed when they are at 45 to about age 50. Prostate tests are used to see if men have Prostate Cancer. One test that can be used to test for Prostate Cancer is by collecting a sample of prostate tissue. The doctor will collect a sample of cells from someones prostate. A thin needle is inserted into the prostate to collect tissue. The tissue is then analyzed to determine whether or not cancer cells are present. -
Lung Cancer Testing
Men at age 55 or older should talk to a health care provider to talk about smoking history and whether to get tested. one test would be a low dose CT scan. This test takes cross images of your body. Instead of like an x ray that only takes one picture. This CT scan can take many. It is very important to talk to your health care provider about getting tested because even if you do not smoke you could still be about second hand smoke which is almost just as bad.
