Literacy Moments

    When I was 3 years old, I attended preschool where I was taught how to identify the letters in alphabet

    After preschool I attended kindergarten where I learned how to read and write my name

    I had a 4th grader reading buddy who would come visit our class

    Was having a hard time with both reading and writing

  • 3rd grade

    I was not able to read books for my grade level

  • 4th grade

    I was put into a smaller reading group for additional help

  • 5th grade

    Attended my first IEP meeting and was told I had to finish 5 books by the end of the school

  • 7th grade

    I still struggled with reading at the proper reading level and was put into smaller classes

  • 12th grade

    Graduated high school and ended up being an A-B honor student who passed English with an A
