This book is a sad story of two young boys have been best friends since they stared highschool.They are going through a rough time with Simon's diease and it is affecting the two of them. Nathan's Mum and Dad are going through a tough break-up and it's showing. Nathan and his little sister aren't helping very much because they are always fighting. -
Twilight
This book was really cool it was a lot like the movie but explained everything thing more. It is about a teenage girl who moves in with her Dad after her Mum and stepfather decide to travel the world. She meets a guy who turns out to be a vampire but she falls in love with him anyway. -
The Worst Witch
This book was a very easy book to read. It was about a young witch who was vvery clumsy and was always getting into trouble. She discovers some evil witches who are planning to invade the school. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to people aged 9-12. -
Everybody Else's Kids
Today I started this book. From the look of the cover it looks like it is about kids. The teacher seems pretty young and has a really hard job. -

Today I started this book. The reason I choose this book is because it looked really cool. I like books that are about the war and what people have to go through so I thought this would be a good pick. -
Power Of One
Today I started this book. I didn't pick this book but it looks like a good book anyway. This book is a shared reading novel for our reading group. Other people have recommended it to me as well so I'm looking foward to reading more. -
Everbody Else's Kids
I'm now half way through the book; i'm really enjoying it. It is about a young teacher who teaches children with special needs and are struggling. The language the author uses can be a bit confusing at times but apart from that it is good so far. -
Power Of One
I started this book a couple of days ago and it is realy cool.So far it is about a young 6 year old boy who is called cruel names because of his race. He is on a train that will take him to his Granddad. The author of this book uses lots of language that is difficult to understand but the meanings are in the glossary at the back. -
Dead Dan's Dee
I started this book on the 7th of May.This book is about a young girl who has to look after her mother and aunty who have a nasty diease. They don't tell Dee very much about their diease so when they get taken away to live in a hospital she freaks because Dee has to go to an orphange. -
Dead Dan's Dee
Dee has been having a rough time at the orphange with all the jobs the girls have to do like sewing up stockings, gardening, cleaning the floors, and washing etc. They get feed horrible food.
I'm really enjoying this book so far. It is really interesting in a weird way. -
Power of one
I'm up to chapter eight now and this book is awsome. Peekay has gotten of the train to find his mother at the station ready to pick him up and take him home. Peekay asks his Grandpa where his beloved Nanny has gone to. I'm really enjoying this book and probably would never have read it if I hadn't been told to. I'm really glad someone did tell me it was really good. -
Dead Dan's Dee
Dee has started at a local school with the other girls. Melva and Hilda (Melva-Dee's mother Hilda-Dee's aunty) have been writing letters to Dee and talking about 'other plans'. Dee is confused by this and wants to know what the other plans are.She is told that when she turns 14 she will be given the job of a housemaid. Dee doesn't want to be a housemaid. -

I'm up to chapter eight now and Peekay has meet somebody called Doc. He is a a teacher of music and asks Peekays mother if he can teach Peekay. Peekay goes with Doc to find cactus and succulents and as a reward each morning Doc teaches Peekay to play piano. -

One of Torey's kids have just been moved permanently to her class. (Lori) Her other teacher didn't understand that Lori was struggling and thought it was a waste of time trying to teach someone who did not understand symbols like letters and numbers.Torey decides that Lori isn't ready to learn about reading and gets one of the other kids (Tomaso) to read everything for Lori. -

Dee has just moved in with Dan's ( Dee's Father) mate from the war. They have moved to a small two bedroom house on a farm. Melva has just died and thousands of questions are running round Dee's head. This book is getting really exciting and I can't wait untill I have some spare time to read some more. -

Peekay has just had his jaw fixed after what happened when he tried to save Doc from going to prison. Peekay has talked to the librarian (Mrs Boxall) and she has helped Peekay save Doc. Doc and Peekay are about to play the piano in front of hundreds of people so that Peekay can continue visiting Doc. -

Dee has made a new friend (Irene) who is about to finis school. Dee has found out that she can't draw infront of Joe (Dan's war mate) because, it makes him tremble because of waht happened at war. Drawing was a way for Dan to escape what was happening in the war. -

I finished this book today. I didn't really like the ending, to me it was a bit boring. Essie brought Dee a pie for lunch and when she turned up at school to drop her pie off, she had Hilda with her and told Dee that she was going home. I kind of expected that it would end like that which made it less enjoyable. -
I Am Not Esther
I started this book two days ago and finished it yesterday. It is about a young teenager who gets left with her uncle when her Mum says she is going to work in Africa. Her uncle, aunty and cousins are very religious. Kirby now known as Esther makes really good friends with Maggie and doesn't want to leave her. In the end Kirby leaves their home and meats her brother she never knew about. -

Today Peekay had his first boxing match. He managed to win every round even though he is a lot smaller than a lot of the other kids. The boxing team got their photos taken, this is when Peekay realised just how nasty racism can be. -

Peekay and Doc perform another concert, this time at their own will. Geel Piet is meant to be at this concert but doesn't turn up. Peekay goes to get changed later. He heard something coming from the boxing ring, It turns out to be Geel Piet groaning, Somebody had beaten him up with a sjambok and he was now almost dead. Peekay sat there and watched him die. -
Power Of One
I have now finished this book. In the end their was a funeral for Geel Piet. Peekay was about to start school at an expensive boarding school, this time one without a judge. Doc, Mrs Boxall and a lot of other people helped Peekay and his mother to find him a uniform because, it was very expensive adn Peekay's mother just can't afford it. This book was really cool. Although it was horrible the stuff that happened to the prisoners it was exciting because of the depth the author went in to.
