An American Novelist is born...
Daniel Handler, also known as for his pen name Lemony Snicket, was born in San Francisco, California. His real name is Daniel Handler but he is known as Lemony Snicker. He is the son Sandra Handler, an opera singer and retired City College of San Francisco dean, and Lou Handler, an accountant who was once a Jewish refugee from Germany. -
Starting to Sing Opera...
Since his mother was an opera singer, Daniel started to enjoy participating in operas along with his mother in the early 80's. He started to sing with the San Francisco Boys Chorus in a few productions. -
And what school did he go to?
Being a really smart and bright student, these qualities helped him get to the prestigious school of Lowell High School and there he graduated. -
Wesleyan University...
Daniel Handler double majored in English and American Studies at Wesleyan University. There he also graduated. -
Academy of American Poets Prize
In 1992 Daniel Handler won the award of "The Academy of American Poets Prize". -
Wesleyan University's Olin Fellowship Award
During the years of 1992-1993 Daniel won the award at Wesleyan University. It was the Wesleyan University's Olin Fellowship Award that he had won. -
First Book Published!
On the year of 1998, Handler published his first book in "The Series of Unfortunate Events" which is "The Bad Beginning." -
1 Out of Three of his novels...
Three of Handler's novels have been published under his original name. The first, "The Basic Eight" was rejected 37 times until it was finally being published in 1998. This created another work from which came "The Series of Unfortunate Events". -
Watch Your Mouth! (2 Out of 3 novels...)
Watch Your Mouth was actually completed before "The Basic Eight" was published. It was one of his second novels being published after "The Basic Eight". "Watch Your Mouth" was just completed but not yet published so it turned out to be the second novel. -
Screenplays...
In 2003 Handlers screenplays were produced such as the films of "Rick", "Kill The Poor" in 2006, and "A Series of Unfortunate Events" in 2004. -
Another child is born...
It is not said what day and month Handler's child was born but it is said that he was born the year 2003. Their parents named him Otto, Otto Handler. -

During the year 2005, Daniel Handler had a total of 11 books of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" published. -

Also in the year of 2005, Daniel wrote a book titled "Adverbs". -

Quill Award for The Penultimate Peril
He also won an award for "The Penultimate Peril", a Series of Unfortunate Events Book under his pen name of Lemony Snicket. The book won the award of the Quill Award for The Penultimate Peril. -
The Beatrice Letters
Written by Lemony Snicket this book was published shortly after Book 13th of "The Series of Unfortunate Events". It is said to be linked to Book the 13th. The book contains 13 letters, six from Beatrice Baudelaire to Lemony Snicket, six from Lemony Snicket to Beatrice Baudelaire, and one from Lemony Snicket to his eidtor. -
13th Final Installment of the Series
The Lemony Snicket books have been international best-sellers, and the 13th and final installment of the series came out. On the day the thirteenth book came out, Handler appeared on the "Today" show as Lemony Snicket's representative. -

Dead or Alive...?
Daniel Handler is now married to Lisa Brown, a graphic artist whom he met in college. He now lives in an old Victorian house in San Francisco and is enjoying spending time with his family.
