Roald Amundsen and the rest of the crew arrive back to Belguim with their expedition being a success, but they are lucky to have it that way. The expedition was poorly prepared, there was not enough clothes for everyone and barely any food, and their ship got stuck in ice.The reason why they suvived and escaped diseases like scurvy is because Frederick Cook hunted for fresh meat, providing the crew with food and the vitamin C needed to prevent scurvy. -

Roald Amundsen hears that Frederick Cook wants to be the first person to go to the Soth Pole, and upon hearing this Roald wants to beat him to it, and he sets sail on the ship Fram. -

Roald and his crew arrive at the South Pole before Cook's team, and beat them by 33 days. Cook's team eventually die on the way back. Roald and his crew used dogsled for travel on land, which turns out to be very effective. -
Disappearance and Death
Roald Amundsen disappears while flying on a rescue mission, trying to rescue members of a crashed plane that were returning from the North Pole. -
Searches Called Off
Government calls off searches and Roald Amundsen is pronounced dead. It was believed he died in a crash, because his plane was found crashed on Trosmo coast. He was 55 years old. -

A search is made for his body underwater by the Norwegian Navy, but is unsuccessful. -
