  • My Birth Day

    My Birth Day
August 23, 2004. The day I was born...
  • The first time I broke my arm

When I was four years old I fell off my bike and broke my wrist. It was broken for 6 weeks before we knew. I learned to be more careful since I was still growing and decided not to ride a bike with no arms again.
  • I caught my first fish

    I caught my first fish
I learned how to fish by myself and how to unhook, clean, and watched how they cooked them. This took place right between the Cay of Man-O-War and the main Island, Abaco.
  • The second time I broke my arm

When I was 7 I broke my left arm again. This time I broke my wrist and my arm. I learned not to climb on high railings and got through it by getting a 'waterproof' cast and wrapping a plastic bag around it so I could still enjoy summer.
  • The time I got sticthes

    The time I got sticthes
When I was 8 we went on our annual trip to Spanish Cay, a cay of the coast of Abaco. We were crawfishing and at least an hour away from any clinic. I was watching them fill the live well with crawfish and stuck my hand inside and my finger broke and needed three stitches. I was rushed to the nearest clinic. I learned to be more careful in boats and tell people when I was about to do something. I got through it by using floats to keep my hand out of the water for the rest of the trip.
  • Met my favourite Olympian

    Met my favourite Olympian
At an Olympic qualifying swim meet and Bahamian Nationals qualifying meet, I met Ryan Lochte, my favourite Olympian. We were in Nassau, Bahamas. He said I was a good swimmer and encouraged me to keep swimming. I learned many new swim skills from him and other Olympians.
  • I started high school

    I started high school
In The Bahamas high school starts in grade 7. I was super nervous, but my older brother was there for me. I already knew everyone. I learned how high school is and got through it by praying and making jokes with my friends.
  • I almost drowned

    I almost drowned
My third day of high school I had a seizure in a pool and was underwater for over two minutes before anyone realized. I had to be flown out to the United States where we found out I have epilepsy. I got through it by praying and reading about my 'disease' with my family. I learned how to take care of myself and what my body needs to prevent seizures. The picture is the day I got out the hospital.
  • We won Junior Junkanoo for The Bahamas.

We won Junior Junkanoo for The Bahamas.
Junkanoo is a celebration in The Bahamas like Carnival except it has more rake n' scrape, a Bahamian cultural music beat, and many colourful costumes. My high school won and we took the national title back home after a stressful night of performing and being rained on during our performance. I learned many new skills such as dancing, Bahamian beats, and improved my music skills. We got through the rain storm by smiling and doing our best even though we were soaked.
  • Hurricane Dorian

    Hurricane Dorian
I lost my home, friends, and family to a Category 5 storm with winds reaching 250 miles per hour, tornadoes, and a tidal wave. We were swimming in 7 feet of water in my 8 foot ceiling home. We broke out my window and sat inside the storm with no protection. I got through it with prayers and talking about it with people that would listen and help me through it. I learned that God puts us in situations like that to humble us and remind us He's in charge. I also lost my best friend due to the storm
