    pitted the colonies of British America against those of New France, each side supported by military units from the parent country and by American Indian allies. ended 1763. Called the 7 years war but was actually 9.
  • Albany Plan

    Albany Plan
    a proposal introduced by Benjamin Franklin during the Albany Congress in 1754. Franklin's plan called for the formation of a permanent federation of colonies, as a means to reform colonial-imperial relations and to more effectively address shared colonial interests.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    Britain wanted to control expansion into the western territories. The King issued the Proclamation of 1763 prohibiting settlements beyond the Appalachian Mountains. Colonists who had already settled on these lands were ordered to return east of the mountains.

    a series of laws passed by the British government on the American colonies in 1767. They placed new taxes and took away some freedoms from the colonists including the following: New taxes on imports of paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea.

    started by a snowball fight. British soldiers shot and killed several people while being harassed by a mob in Boston. The event was heavily publicized by leading Patriots such as Paul Revere and Samuel Adams.
