    3/5 Compromise
    During the Costitutional Convention there was a compromise between the Southern and Northern staes known as the 3/5 compromise. This meant that five slaves would count as three regular mento ne counted for both taxation and representation. The 3/5 compromise was important because it increased representaion in the Hous and Electoral College.

    The Missouri Compromise was a law passed to maintain balance between slave and nonslaves stes. Where Missouri would be a slave state and Maine would be a free state.

    The Compromise of 1850 would make California a free state, but the Fugitive slave Act forced the slaves in free states be returned to thier owners.

    Fugitive Slave Act
    Runaway slaves who escaped to states were slavery was not allowed had to be returned to the rightful owner by law which was called The Fugitive Slave Act.

    Kansas Nebraska Act
    The Kansas Nebraska Act opened new lands for settlement. The people involved were Abolitionists and Pro slavery people. This Act was important because it allowed settlers to determine by popular soverignty which caused a Civil War.

    The thirteen amendent outlawed slavery and involuntary servitude. Senate,House and presiednent Lincoln was involved and it was the firts of three Reconstruction Amendments adopted after the American Civil War. This amendment was important because it outlawed slavery and Licoln believed an amendment was neede to the Constitution.
