    Start of the Haitian Revolution
    In August 1791 the Creoles, mestizos, enslaved Africans, and indians decided to revolt against the French. The leaders who led the revolution were Toussaint L’Ouverture and Jean-Jacques Dessalines. The revolution started when they found out of the success of the American Revolution. Because they knew of what happened, it encouraged them to try to gain freedom from their European masters.

    They fought against France for their independence. At first, during 1802, Toussaint agreed to halt the revolution if the french would end slavery but they lied. So, during 1804 Toussaint and Jean-Jacques Dessalines took up the fight for freedom and they declared the colony an independent country. So, the revolution was a sucess at the end.

    The revolution started when the Napoleon's armies invaded both Spain and Portugal. The royal family (a member of the Portuguese family) played a key role in freeing Brazil from Portugal. And the Brazilians helped ran the revolution.

The Indians, mestizos, and creoles lead the revolution. The leaders of the revolution were Padre Miguel Hidalgo and Jose Maria Morelos.

    The creoles born in Latin America were oppressed. The thing that triggered the revolts would be because of the Napoleon's conquest. Because of the Napoleon conquest they removed King Ferdinand and the creoles felt no loyalty from the new king. The class that mostly led the revolution would be the Creoles. The leaders who lead the revolution were Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin.

    Mexico's creoles feared the loss of their privileges in the Spanish-controlled colony, so they decided to unite to support the independence of Mexico. They proclaimed independence in 1821. So, the revolution was a success after a while.

    There revolution was a bloodless revolution because a member of the Portuguese royal family. Also, eight thousand Brazilians signed a petition asking for Pedro to rule which made him officially declare independence on September 7, 1822.

    This revolution fought against Spain. The revolution ended by driving the remaining Spanish forces out of Lima, Peru. The Bolivar's army defeated the Spanish at the Battle of Ayacucho on December 9, 1824. So, the South American Revolution was successful.
