Simon Bolivar was a Venezuelan revolutionary who fought against the French and the Spanish for Venezuela's independence. This war for independence took years for Venezuela.

    Miguel Hidalgo gained independence for Mexico after winning the war of independence against the French and Spanish invasion. Ever since that day, Mexicans celebrate this day as Mexican Independence Day.
