Letter Received About Gunpowder Plot
In November 1605, a short amount of time before the Gunpowder Plot was supposed to take place, the King recieved a tip to not go to the parliament building on the 5th of November. The Gunpowder Plot
On November 5th, 1605, Catholic conspirators planned to kill King James 1 by putting gunpowder in a cellar of the Parliament building. They hired a man named Guy Fawkes to light the gunpowder. But while waiting to light the powder, a guard discovered him in the basement with all the gunpowder. He and the conspirators were all killed for their actions. Their heads were staked outside of the Parliament as a sign to show what happens when you try to kill the king. Source -
King James I dies
