magna carta
Was sealed by king John in June 1215. 'Magna Carta' is Latin and means "Great Charter". The Magna Carta was one of the most important documents of Medieval England. It limited the power of the English king and gave allot of the governing power to a body of people. Our Government uses these 3 things nobody will be imprisoned or punished without first going through the proper legal system, wwe have laws, and nobody can take away your rights. -
Mayflower compact
Was the first governing document of Plymouth Colony. Signed on board the Mayflower shortly after she came to anchor off Provincetown Harbor. How the Government uses it by: follow laws passed by the government, they did elections on the governer, it was self-govenment. -
English Bill of Rights
The English Bill of Rights limited the power of the English sovereign, and was written as an act of Parliament. Also that Englishmen had certain inalienable civil and political rights.
We use this in our Government by having unaliable rights, limitting the power of the government, and gettting a fair trial before punishing.
