At three months of age,I was placed in an orphanage in Fargo, whereI was adopted by another Norwegian family in Chris and Jennie Hill of Fargo. Originally named "Haugen", the family later changed its name to the English version of the name; "Haugen" means "the hill" in Norwegian.

President John F. Kennedy was assisted during Motorcade through the city. After President Kennedy was killed, I offered Mrs. Kennedy my coat because she didn't want people to see him in the condition he was in.

Clint remained in the white house.

I remained assigned to Mrs. Kennedy and the children until after the 1964 presidential election.

Became the (SAIC) Sepcial Agent in Charge of Presidential protection

Nov 28, 1967

I then was assigned to President Lyndon B. Johnson at the White House. In 1967, when Johnson was still in office, I became the Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) of Presidential protection.

Retired

Nov 28, 1975

I was assigned to headquarters as the Assistant Director of the Secret Service for all protection. I retired in 1975.
