On June 5, 1963 in a meeting in El Paso, Texas President Kennedy, Vice-President Johnson, and Governor Connally discussed the trip through Texas later in the year to gain voters for election. -
Arrival in Texas
President Kenndy and Vice-President Johnson along with their wives arrive in Texas at Brooks Air force base for two days worth of campaigning. The schedule is San Antonio, Houston, Fort Worth, and then on to Dallas from there and ending with a relaxing weekend at Vice-President Johnson's ranch! -
11:10 AM CST- Leaves Carswell AFB
Air Force One leaves Carswell Air Force Base to head to Dallas, Texas after a morning breakfast speech given to the Chamber of Commerce. -
Arrival at 11:20CST to Love Field in Dallas, TX
They arrive at Love Field in Dallas, Texas aboard Air Force One for the motorcade through the streets of Dallas. -
11:30 AM CST Motorcade Leaves Love Field
President Kenndy's motorcade leaves Love Field for the trip through the streets of Dallas. If they only knew what was awaiting them! -
12:29 PM CST- Presidential Motorcade enters Dooley Plaza
At 12:29 PM CST the Presidential Motorcade makes the trun and begins down Dooley Plaza not knowing history was about to be born! -
12:30 PM CST- The SHOT
At 12:30 PM CST the first shot is heard ringing from the Texas School Book Depository! It was followed by two more shots. -
1:00 PM CST- President Kenndy Dead
At 1:00 PM CST President Kennedy is pronounced dead after being administered last rites in Parkland Hospital! The hospital was only 4 miles away from the shooting scene. -
1:22 PM CST- Rifle found
At 1:22 PM CST a local Dallas policeman finds a rifle hid in the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository! -
1:33 PM CST- Official Announcement
At 1:33 PM CST the Official Announcement of President Kennedy's death made in room inside Parland Hospital. -
1:55 PM CST- Lee Harvey Oswald Arrested
At 1:55 PM CSt at local movie theater Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for murder of local police officer J.D. Tippit. -
2:04 PM CST- President Kennedy's body moved to Air Force One
At 2:04 PM CST after much argument and debate with the Secret Service President Kennedy's body was moved from Parkland Hospital to Love Field to board Air Force One for journey back to Washington, D.C. -
2:18 PM CST- Vice-President Johnson sworn in as President
At 2:18 PM CST Vice-President Johnson was sworn into the office of President by Sarah T. Hughes aboard Air Force One with Mrs. Kennedy present. it was first time she had left her husband's body. -
6:00 PM EST- Arrival at Andrews Air Force Base
At 6:00 PM EST Air Force One containing the body of President Kenndy arrives at Andrews Air Force Base. -
11:26 PM CST- Oswald charged with President Kenndy's death
At 11:26 PM CST Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with the murder of President Kennedy after many hours of interigation. -
12:21 AM CST- Oswald killed by Jack Ruby
At 12:21 AM CST in Dallas, Texas while being transferred Lee Harvey Oswald was shot and killed by Jack Ruby!
