Little Saint Hugh of Lincoln
Little Saint Hugh was a famous ritual murder said to have been performed by Jews. Supposedly he invited Jews to come kill him, and some Jews went to where he was, but for a wedding instead. Somehow his body ended up in a well. King Edward tried to encourage Jews into different trades such as farming and crafts, but failed miserably because of local descrimination and hatred of Jews. It was now illegal for Jews to loan money at interest. All jews over 7 years old were now required to wear a badge. Suspicion From King Edward
King Edward had all Jews arrested for suspected counterfeiting. 680 were arrested, jailed and put on trial. 269 Jews were hung. Jews were once again occused of counterfiet although there was zero evidence to support this conviction. The whole community was expelled. King Edward requested a ransom of 4,000 pounds of silver. -

King Edward makes a decree to expell all the Jews from England. He sends away 4,000-16,000 Jews, who find refuge in Gernany and France.
