South Carolina Secendes
This is the first state to leave the Union. This is what made other states leave the USA. After South Carolina left then many other states decided to leave the Union. Such as Texas, Flordia, and Alabama. South Carolina was the creaters of the CSA. This was important becasue this is what started the civil war which is not good. It also allowed slaves to be free and help the USA become more unified. -
The Battle of Fort Sumter
The Battle of Fort Sumter was the battle that started the war. The north had control over the base. The south has been bombing the fort the whole day. President Lincoln finally evacuated the base. This battle is what started a four year long war that had about 620,000 casulties. I think this battle is signeficent because started a war that the north would win. -
Battle of Bull Run
This was 1 of the first battles fought in the civil war. Before this battle President Lincoln tells the commander that they were going to fight the south. Genral Irvin McDowel asked for 3 more months to train his troops and the President says no. All of the troops march down to Virginia and a lot of northerners come to watch. As the fight goes on it ends up going to were the northerners were at and they are in the fight as well. This is significent because it showed that the south is stronger. -
The Battle of Shiloh
The battle of Shiloh was a day long. This battle had a lot more strategy compared to some of the other battles. It started with the south attacking the north from the trees. Both armies had younger less experienced troops but both sides fought well. in the end the north overpowered the south and took over. I think this battle is significent because of the way the north was losing all of the battles and how they won this battle -
The Battle of Gettysburg
The battle of Gettysberg was fought for three days. It was the most important battle in Civil war. This battle was one of the major wins for the north. In the end of the battle there was a charge called pickets charge. This is where the CSA tried to break the fedrals ranks. The Union forces were to strong and the south had to retreat. this was the end of the battle. -
President Lincolns Assination
The night the President was a assinated he was at a play. He was at the play Our American Cousin. He was in the Presidents booth and he got shot. After he got shot the assasin John Booth jumped out of the Presidents booth and broke his leg. This is significent because he was a good president and he deserves to be remebered.
